We Are Blood and Thunder: Review

We Are Blood and Thunder by Kesia Rupo
Rating: 2.5/5 stars
Review:
I kind of have mixed feelings about this book. Like I liked it but then I also didn't like it. The reasons I liked this book because the characters were amazing. My favorite character was Lena and I loved how she was tested for who she is which reminded me a little of Divergent. The author made sure Lena was well developed to the end. The ending was good and kind of mind-blowing but not really (it's hard to explain). I loved the general plot and theme of the book but it was kind of not what I was hoping for. The story in this book was a little confusing at times and the pacing was a little off. The worldbuilding was off and the conflict happened mostly in the beginning. There was no rising action to it really. The whole magic system was a little confusing and in my opinion not explained well.  I was also hoping for big battle scenes but none in the book got my attention. The romance was a slow burn but none really developed in the book which I was sad about. There isn't much of what I really liked about the book but I have mixed feelings.
