Girl, Serpent, Thorn: Review

Rating: 4/5 stars
Review: Kind of like Shatter Me with Juliette's powers and House of Night

This Persian mythology mixed fairy tale was an amazing story. The main character, Soraya, is cursed to be poisonous and her family does not involve her in their family kingdom so she stays away. She decides to get involve and finds a way to get rid of her curse. This book was amazing with not only the beautiful writing and amazing world-building but also adding both great twists and making it an LGBTQ+ novel.

The characters were easy to connect with and I love seeing how Soraya developed throughout the book since she mostly stayed away from people. Seeing how she trusted people and being betrayed, she was brave and grew from it. The villain in the story was amazing but not surprising who it turned out to be. I loved the new creatures that were featured in this book which are called div because they are unique and did so much to the story. Also seeing the romances between couples was amazing and kept the readers thrilled.

The reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars was because some scenes would be too fast or too slow at times. Which is the only story and sometimes zoned me off at the slow scenes. Though I did love how the author kind of made this book sound like two books combined into one. The beginning was kind of like a different story compared to the rest of the book. The story did flow so don't think that you will not enjoy it. I recommend this read to those who love Persian mythology with romance.
