Chasing Starlight: Review

Rating: 4/5 stars
Review: Loved this 1930s mystery novel that takes place in Los Angeles Hollywood. Kate moves to her retired film star grandfather and walks into a murder in the house trying to find the killer while working on set in Hollywood. I loved the author's writing for this book and the setting. I haven't read a murder mystery that takes place in 1930s Hollywood which was a unique and new, fresh read for me. Even though I guessed the murderer in the middle of the book, I did love the plot twists and enjoyed going on an adventure with Kate.

I enjoyed the main characters, Kate and Hugo. It was lovely to learn about Kate and her background story so that it was easy to connect with her. All of the characters in the book were easy to connect to and I had no problems with them. I also enjoyed the slow burn romance in this book because it was perfect for it. Seeing the characters develop, especially Kate, was wonderful. Especially of Kate because of her past and her trying to find her true self.

This was a lovely read and it ended off in a good way. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that it was a little longer then it should have been. Other than that I didn't have any problems with it. I loved the setting, writing, characters, romance, and plot twists. I recommend this to readers who want to read a good mystery book that takes place in 1900s Hollywood.
*This book was given to me by the author to give an honest review in return*
