More Than Just A Pretty Face: Review

Rating: 4/5 stars
Review: As an Indian blogger, I'm really glad to get this own voice novel to review. Danyal, a not so smart guy, who to be a chef in the future which his dad doesn't support him for, becomes the Renaissance Man. In order to let everyone know that he is smart and could marry his long time crush, he gets help from a smart, pretty girl Bisma. This book was really cute and relatable. It was nice to see some Indian words and ways in the book since there aren't many books out there like this one. I loved the author's writing of the book and the point-of-view being in Danyal's because there aren't many books I have read that are in a male's pov. I loved the story plot and the way it was structured. It was a really cute book that you don't want to miss.

The characters in this book were wonderful and easy to connect to. It was a little hard to connect with Danyal in the beginning but understood him real quick. Bisma was my favorite character because she did something in the past which her parents don't forgive her for since it could ruin her past. She was really brave and still went on with her life knowing there is someone out there for her that will take her ALL in . The relationship of a certain couple was really cute and there were some funny, laugh out loud moments.

This book was really enjoyable to read. It's nice to see so many Own Voices novels coming out this year. This was a really cute, funny book that I will never forget. I recommend it to those who need a funny, cute contemporary read and want to understand the Indian culture
